1. Fairy Tale Unit - 11 famous fairy tales with writing and comprehension activities, roll a fairy tale writing activity, and complete the unit by writing an original fairy tale. Each lesson also has a corresponding collaborative engineering activity to match! Perfect for grades 1-2!

2. Book Studies - I also love doing a read aloud book, along with higher order thinking skills questions and projects. Mrs. B on Teachers Pay Teachers has some great books and great higher order thinking skills questions available. I'll give an example with Matilda.

William and Mary Language Arts Materials - Both their literature units and the Jacob's Ladder Program are high quality and go in depth with writing. The Jacob's Ladder program is much more cost effective, if that is a factor. Some options:
